Hi and thank you for dropping by I’m glad we had the chance to e-meet.
I am Susan, the very creative but still very grounded copywriter at Publishers Daughter.
Some twenty years ago when I was a Personal Assistant I accepted a challenge to write some content to promote a one off conference for a niche market. When the income from this event more than doubled expectations the one off became a national series and I held the position of inhouse writer and project manager for four years.
From this starting point I progressed to writing in other arenas including, hotel promotion, fundraising, health and not for profit.
As a team member in a public relations office my job was to research and source material for reports, stories, profiles and feature articles.
At the top end of town I worked on documents for parliament and cabinet.
Sometimes I have written very creatively and at other times I had to contain the words to comply with style guides and protocols.
These days I can write copy and produce content for just about any genre.
It’s what made me the Copywriter I am today and you can call on all of this to tell the story of your brand.
Ps In case you are wondering about the title, yes, I am the daughter of a publisher
How I Work
As your Copywriter, Publishers Daughter will do all the planning, writing, research and SEO.
The process I use for most copywriting involves five stages:
Copywriting Brief
The most important document in the copywriting process.
The Creative Brief is basecamp for the project and it tells me how you want the world to see your business.
I dedicate this time to find out what impassions your brand. We identify your target audience and why they need your product or service.
Firstly we schedule a briefing meeting and I send you a list of questions about your business that we will discuss.
The information that you give me is the material for the brief.
Following our meeting I send you a typed copy of the brief for review and approval.
Plan and Research
Further analysis will show the many different angles I can take to tell your story; and promote your unique selling proposition.
I break down the project into a series of tasks and set some timelines.
Write and Create
We have agreed on the brief , my research has produced some awesome resources, I have a linear workplan.
With all the elements in place I am ready to write.
Review and Edit
To get the best possible results we then work together through two rounds of revisions to produce the final copy for publication.
Deliver and Publish
Once we are satisfied that the goals of the project have been achieved I deliver the final copy for your sign off and acceptance.
The copywriting is now yours to publish.
